Wired Trees

In my life I saw lot's of trees, but none like this ones.A lot of very very strange forms.I call them Mutant Trees.I think they are a little bit modified by someone.I don't know how, but this is what is supose.What do you say ? Are this trees modified or is just a miracle of nature ?

I've also searched info about them, but I didn't get nothing. :(
I think they are unique.
actually, they were in reader's digest a couple year's ago
