Samsung : Reinventing the laptop

Samsung is reinventing the laptop concenpt. At the Mobile WiMAX Summit 2006 in Korea Samsung unveiled the SPH-P9000. SPH-P9000 a "PDA-based device" but this convergence machine offers so much more, most notably high-speed connections to Mobile WiMAX and EV-DO. It may not be as pocketable as a smartphone, but the SPH-9000 is certainly more powerful, complete with internet connectivity (via WiMAX), voice communication (via CDMA EV-DO), and a fold-out QWERTY keyboard making text entry an absolute cinch.

Here’s the SPH-P9000 Deluxe MITs, a PC shaped like a PDA, with Windows XP, a 30GB hard disk, 256MB of RAM, a 5” display, a 1GHz CPU, WiMAX, CDMA EV-DO, and a 1.3Mpix camera. It measures 143x94x29mm and weights 580g.

Samsung will deliver the SPH-P9000 Deluxe MITs Mobile Wimax, WiBro convergence device in mid-2007. No price has been set yet. I want one. [ via ]
